Scrub Island Billfish Series Awards & Optionals

BASE ENTRY FEE
The non-optional entry fee for the Scrub Island Billfish Series is $5,000 for each for Leg 1 & Leg 2. This fee covers participation for up to six(6) registered anglers and allows teams to enter any of the optional jackpot categories. The tournament base entry fee prize money will be distributed accordingly: 50% retained by the tournament, with the remaining 50% paid out as follows:

• First-Place Team – 50 percent
• Second-Place Team – 30 percent
• Third-Place Team – 20 percent

TEAM DIVISION AWARDS: 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD PLACE OVERALL
All registered teams are eligible for the Team Division Awards. Awards will be presented to the teams with the highest total points earned from billfish releases.

Points are awarded as follows:

• Blue marlin release: 500 points each
• White marlin, spearfish, or sailfish release: 100 points each

The highest-scoring teams will be recognized in the following placements:

• 1st Place Overall Team
• 2nd Place Overall Team
• 3rd Place Overall Team

In the event of a tie, the team that reaches the highest score first—based on release time or boated-fish time—will be declared the winner.

TOP ANGLER AWARDS
All registered anglers are eligible for the Top Angler Awards. The award will be presented to the angler with the highest total points earned from billfish releases.

• High-Point Lady Angler – Trophy and Prize Package

In the event of a tie, the team that reaches the highest score first—based on official release time—will be declared the winner.

LEG 1, LEG 2 AND SERIES OPTIONAL JACKPOTS
All optional jackpot divisions are 85% payback. Only teams entered in the base entry may enter the optional jackpots. Only teams entered in the optional jackpots are eligible for cash and prizes. The tournament rules apply to all optional jackpots. 

SCRUB ISLAND BILLFISH SERIES JACKPOT
$5000

The fee to enter the Scrub Island Billfish Series Overall Points Jackpot is $5,000 and is optional. Teams must be registered by 7:29 am on their first day of fishing to be eligible for the Scrub Island Billfish Series Overall Points Jackpot. The jackpot will be awarded to the top three teams with the most overall points of the two event (leg) series and will be awarded accordingly; First place 50%, Second Place 30%, Third Place 20%.

Only teams entered in the optional jackpot are eligible for these cash awards.

DAILY BILLFISH RELEASE JACKPOT
Level 1 – $1000
Level 2 – $3000
Level 3 – $5000
Daily Billfish Release Jackpot is optional and consists of three different levels of participation. You must be entered in level one to participate in level two, and level two to participate in level 3. The Daily Billfish Release Jackpot will go to the team that scores the most billfish release points during each day of fishing. The jackpot will be divided three ways among the boats that score the most billfish release points on Day One, Day Two and Day Three. If no teams in this category score release points on an individual day, the jackpot for that day will roll over to the next day’s fishing. If, on the final day of fishing, no teams in the category score release points, the final day’s jackpot will be split between day 1 and day 2 winners. In the event of a tie, the team reaching the highest score first wins, based on the official time of release. Only teams registered in this category are eligible for cash prizes from this category.

• Day-one, level-one Billfish-Release Jackpot — one-third of total pot.
• Day-two, level-one Billfish-Release Jackpot — one-third of total pot.
• Day-three, level-one Billfish-Release Jackpot — one-third of total pot.

OVERALL BILLFISH RELEASE POINTS JACKPOT
$5000
The Overall Billfish Release Points Jackpot is optional and will be awarded to the top three teams with the most overall billfish release points of the tournament over the three days of fishing and will be awarded accordingly; First place 50%, Second Place 30%, Third Place 20%. In the event of a tie the team reaching the highest score first wins with the other team assuming the next award position. This is based on the official time of release. Only teams registered in this category are eligible for cash prizes from this category.

WINNER-TAKE-ALL RELEASE JACKPOT
$5000
Entry in the Winner-Take-All Release Points Jackpot is optional. The jackpot prize will be awarded to the team with the most points. In the event of a tie, the team reaching the highest score first wins, based on the official time of release. Only teams registered in this jackpot are eligible for cash prizes from this category

LAST DAY SHOOTOUT JACKPOT
$1500
The Last Day Shootout Jackpot is optional and will be awarded to the team who earns the most release points on the last day of the tournament will win the entire jackpot.

PRIZE DISBURSEMENT
Each registered team representative is in control of any prize winnings and must sign a prize disbursement form specifying how the funds are to be distributed. If the funds are intended to be disbursed to multiple parties, each party must fill out a form signing off on their portion of the winnings and specifying how the funds are to be distributed (check, ACH or wire), in addition to providing a signed form W-9, if applicable. Funds will be disbursed 30 days from receipt of all necessary documents, as long as all tournament entry fees have cleared the bank. All funds will be paid from a US bank account in US dollars.
