Anglers arrive in Sao Vicente, Cape Verde.
After checking out the area, enjoy a welcome reception and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Get to know your fellow participants before heading out on the water.
Fishing days start early: breakfast at 6 a.m., and departure from the marina at 7 a.m. Each day is different as the anglers’ skills, weather, and bite factor into what happens on the water. But the overall goal remains constant: catch fish, develop your skills, and have a great time. Boats are back at the marina at 4 p.m. so anglers have time to freshen up before dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Anglers put what they have learned to the test and compete in a mini fishing tournament. Bragging rights and trophies are on the line. The day concludes with dinner and the awards ceremony.
We ensure there’s ample time for your return to Sao Vicente for flights back home.
If you’re seeking adventure across the pond, and possibly the blue marlin of a lifetime, pack your bags and meet us in Cape Verde. Located off the west coast of Africa, it’s one of the world’s premier marlin-fishing destinations. In terms of numbers and size, the accolades speak for themselves. Anglers fishing these historic waters have brought to the scale more than 20 blue marlin over 1,000 pounds. With plenty of deep banks and drop-offs that hold all sizes of marlin, your first bite might just be a grander.
With temperatures averaging 74 degrees, eight hours of sunshine per day, zero tropical diseases, and direct flights from Europe and the eastern United States, Cape Verde’s tourism industry is on the rise. For marlin fishermen, this is welcome news; accessibility to this ostensibly remote location is improving with each passing season.
Whether trolling lures or teaser fishing for a bait and switch, Cape Verde will definitely get your blood pumping. There’s a reason some of the best fishermen go to Cape Verde, and we want to help you become one of them.
Check out the sportfishing boats that will be your home on the water for the week, all fully rigged and outfitted for big-game fishing.
Our home for the week is Oasis Atlantico Porto Grande, located in the heart of Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicente. The guest rooms and suites are equipped with air conditioning, telephone, LCD TV with international channels, wireless internet, digital safe box and minibar. All rooms have a balcony with a view overlooking either the swimming pool or Mindelo’s Central Square.
